If you’re seeking a bucket-list adventure, Mosquito Bay—also known as the Vieques Bio Bay—is a must-visit. The Biobay is a one of kind, once in a life time experience. Celebrated as the brightest bioluminescent bay in the world, this natural wonder will mesmerize you with neon blue-green waters brought to life by millions of glowing microorganisms. From personal experience this is one of the top things I have experienced in my life. Try and go as close after a new moon as you can! Different people will see different colors in the water, some blue, white, or green. Taking photos is pretty difficult but our attempt is below. We recommend going with the clear kayaks for the best experience! The bay sits hidden behind Playa Sun Bay but is only accessible via guided tour at night. Please follow all rules and guidelines the tour group will give you so that the bay and it’s natural wonders will be protected for all.
